In January 2025, a member of the public brought a section of disused railway between Balgowan and Madderty, Creiff to the attention of the KLTR.
The public body trawl has concluded with no expression of interest received. In addition, no interest was noted from the relevant Local Authority. As such, an interested community group has been advised that an application can now be submitted under the OPTS process.
Accordingly, the case remains open and a range of options with regards to how to deal with the subjects are currently being considered.
